The Durgo air admittance valve DN 20 for siphons reliably prevents unpleasant odours in kitchen, bathroom or toilet, which only arise whenever a siphon is sucked empty by negative pressure in the wastewater pipe and sewer odour freely flows out through the siphon.
If the air admittance valve is installed in the discharge pipe, its diaphragm opens as soon as there is a vacuum. Due to the fresh air flowing into the discharge pipe, the negative pressure there is equalised, before the water is sucked out of the water trap. The valve is absolutely tight in the opposite direction. The air admittance valve is to be fitted vertically onto the wastewater pipe. It can be installed in an intermediate ceiling, in the attic, below the basin or in a ventilated wall-panel element.
The Durgo air admittance valve is maintenance-free and tested in accordance with DIN EN 12380. Its micropore diaphragm is resistant against all gases existing in the sewer. Roof penetrations and stack effects are a thing of the past with this ventilation.
