The Durgo air admittance valve for siphons reliably prevents unpleasant odours in kitchens, bathrooms or toilets, which only arise whenever a siphon is sucked empty by negative pressure in the wastewater pipe, and sewer odour can escape freely.
If the air admittance valve is installed in the drain pipe, its diaphragm opens as soon as there is a vacuum. Due to the fresh air flowing into the drain pipe, the negative pressure there is equalised, before the water is sucked out of the water trap. The valve is absolutely tight in the opposite direction. The air admittance valve is to be fitted vertically onto the wastewater pipe. It can be installed in an intermediate ceiling, in the attic, below the washbasin or in a ventilated wall-panel element.
The Durgo air admittance valve is maintenance-free and tested in accordance with DIN-EN 12380. Its micropore diaphragm is resistant against all gases existing in the sewer. Roof penetrations and stack effects are a thing of the past with this ventilation.
